My name is Joanne Gonzalez. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I have been working with children since age the age of 15 and have been doing so since then. I grew up in a Christian family with love, music, humor, and craftiness. I have several degrees related to the health and education of children and adolescents, which keep me young and entertained (not to mention in debt ^_^). This will be my third trip with GlobalX to East Asia and I am kind of excited... OK, mildly enthusiastic... Alright! I am ecstatic! There is a quote from John Wesley that I like to use to encompass what missions mean to me: "Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can." Hope this inspires you to get involved somehow and keep in touch with our team.
Your servant in Christ,
Joanne

Jake grew up going to North Point and now attends Buckhead Church with his wife Abbey. This will be his third trip to East Asia but his first working in the orphanage. He is excited to be traveling with Abbey this time. He works at a law firm in Atlanta.

Abbey grew up in Atlanta where she and her family attended North Point Community Church. She studied Early Childhood Education at the University of Georgia, and is looking forward to working with the children in East Asia. This is Abbey’s first trip with globalX, and she is excited about seeing God at work this summer. Abbey currently works as an accountant for a small company in Norcross. She is married to her best friend Jake. Colossians 3:23 - “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Hi, I am Lynda Turley. I am excited to be returning to East Asia to work with orphans who have disabilities and their caregivers. Who could have suspected back in 2007 that I’d have this great adventure for 6 years in a row? I’m an Occupational Therapist by training and vocation. It is a great privilege to lead this team and see God working in all of them, combining our talents and gifts for a mission greater than any of us could accomplish on our own. Thank you for joining us!

My name is Caroline Hufford. I recently graduated high school this May and will be attending Vanderbilt University in the fall to study Human and Organizational Development. This is my third East Asia GlobalX trip, but my first to work in an orphanage, and my first trip traveling without my dad. My interest in China stems adopting my little sister Emily from China in 2006. I’m so excited to head back to China to bring God’s love to the orphans and caregivers, who may never otherwise know His love. Thank you for joining us on our journey!

My name is Sheena Spencer. This is my first mission trip and I am thrilled to be a part of the EA3 team! I feel truly blessed to be called to carry out the work in Asia that God has called us to do. I believe that the children in the orphanages will be an even greater blessing to us than we can imagine. I have found through my work with children that they often teach is just as many important life lessons as we teach them. I attend Buckhead Church where I serve as a Guest Services volunteer as well as a Starting Point volunteer. Through Hands On Atlanta, I manage a project that tutors 3rd-5th graders in math.

Hi, my name is Erin, and I'm very excited for my frist trip with globalX! In high school and college, I was involved in a wonderful ministry for special needs called Camp Joy, and I'm excited about the opportunity to serve God's amazing children oversees! I love to travel, and I'm looking forward to building relationships in the local community. Thank you for your support!

Hi my name is Emily Clausen and this is the second time I will be going on this trip, and I am so excited my husband will be going as well. I am a teacher at Hembree Springs and have been teaching for 3 years. I have been attending North Point Church for about 10 years and have served in Waumba Land, a Special Needs Transit Small Group. I am currently leading a married small group. I am excited to see how God will work through our team and I am ready to jump in and start serving!
